LGN took forty older people and their volunteers to Gorton Monastery for a tour, tea and cake supported by the People’s Health Lottery. The Church and Friary of St Francis, known locally as Gorton Monastery, is a 19th-century former Franciscan friary in Manchester. It was a real joy to hear so many older people sharing memories of the building over the generations.
